If I had to describe my journey as a K-Pop fan, it'd take a lot of twists and turns! I first heard of and listened to k-pop actively in 2011-2012. I specifically remembered following Lee Hi as soon as she debuted because of some Youtubers I followed back then mentioning her debut. Back then I wasn't really invested in becoming a 'stan', and so I mainly just listened to a lot of music and watched the MVs with great interest. (Cleansing Cream by Brown Eyed Girls was one I watched a million times at least!)
I then lost track of K-Pop as I became more invested in anime. However, nearing the end highschool in 2016 was when I fell back in face first into K-Pop and what I consider the true beginning of being a K-Pop fan/stan. The first K-Pop title track that brought me into the world of biases is Knock Knock by Twice and seeing Dahyun in it!
It's been many years since and I've grown out of actively engaging with the fandom (Stan twitter was and still is pretty crazy), however I still stay somewhat up to date to new debuts and releases as much as I can. I definitely engage with K-Pop much more differently though, as back then I was so invested in following and learning about every girl group that I had a huge playlist that included many nugus! (All of them have disbanded by now aside from maybe 2...ouch.)

I will note that my album collection has expanded exponentially due to a K-Pop store opening near me and the store having a free album box! (The albums in this box do not have inclusions and only have loose CDs and sometimes the photobook, which is all I want now anyways!)
