New Year's Deji
A New Year's tradition that has grown every year since 2017, New Year's Deji is a series of drawings of my OC lovingly nicknamed Deji enjoying the festivities! It all started
with my first drawing of her for my 2017 New Year's Resolution to doodle every single day that year. She was my very first drawing of 2017 and she was also the last image that year!
A description of how Deji looks is as follows: She is a human who has has wavy brown hair that goes down to her shoulders that often is tinted pink at the ends.
She wears a pink frilly shirt, a red sweater and a dark brown jacket.
She also has a short yellow tennis skirt and wears black thigh highs and dark brown mary-janes. Her skin is warm and tan.
I've kept up with the tradition of drawing her every New Year for fun and to keep track of the many ways my art has changed during the years! It is a big reason for why I get excited for every upcoming year!

2017
Deji is smiling happily at the viewer. Small little pink-red scribbles of UFOs surround her, as well as little hearts.
2018
Deji is sticking her tongue out with little red hearts surrounding her head. With one hand she gives a peace sign while the other is on her hip.
2019
Deji is doing a heart with her two hands. She has a yellow party hat on her head. She is smiling widely, her mouth open.
2020
Deji is closing her eyes and smiling, facing away from the recently opened sparkling grape bottle in her left hand. Her right hand shields her face from the foam. There is a yellow party hat on her head.
2021
One of Deji's legs is bent up as if she's hopping on one foot. She is smiling with her teeth and is very excited. She is giving a peace sign with her right hand. In her left hand she holds a single grape. She has a yellow party hat on her head.
2022
Deji is smiling wide mouthed. She has a yellow party hat on her head. In her right hand she holds a full glass of grape juice. In her left she is holding a bottle of grape juice that is fizzing from the top.
2023
Deji is sticking her tongue out to the viewer. There is a yellow party hat on her head. She holds a glass of grape juice in her right hand. There is a bottle of grape juice in her left hand that is fizzing from the top and down her hand. A swirling purple ribbon decorates the background. On the bottom left there is text that reads: Happy New Year!
2024
Deji has a mildly shocked expression on her face. Her hands hold a party popper mid pop. Confetti explodes from the party popper. She has a yellow party hat on her head. A purple ribbon wraps around her legs and twirls to the right where yellow text reads: Happy New Year!
2025
Deji sits in a comically large red solo cup that is filled with a whole bunch of grapes. She holds one within her arms. Deji looks up with a smile, confetti falling behind her. The image is bright and celebratory. In the bottom right there is blue text that says 'Happy New Year'.
2026
Deji poses with a red solo cup filled with grapes. She holds a single grape up with her other hand close to her open, smiling mouth. She glances at the viewer with a joyful expression. She has her signature blue party hat.
Deji lays on the ground surrounded with several purple grapes strewn around her. In her hands, she clutches a large grape that is almost the size of her body like the other grapes. She is happily gazing at it. She has a festive blue party hat on her head.
