!HISTORY OF HON

!Residing (tr.)
!!!!December 29, 20(12)
My first song had a clear beginning.
<<timed 2s t8n>>I was lonely.
<<next>>Protected by mosquito nets in a bed that was not mine.
<<next>>In a room that was not mine.
<<next>>In a house that I hardly remember.
<<next>>It was winter in El Salvador.
<<next>>I was waiting.
<<next>>I had to pass the time.
<<next>>I opened an app on my scratched up pink Ipod, one that I received as a gift after my previous one was stolen from my [[gym locker|Garageband.]]...
<</timed>><<audio "001" volume 0.40>>
<<timed 3s t8n>>I didn't mean to sound too dramatic there!<</timed>>
<<timed 4s t8n>><<linkreplace "(Maybe I should stop interrupting myself?)" t8n>>Garageband can be found on any Apple device.
You open it and find the comforting glow of keyboards and instruments right there waiting to create something.
It’s the one interface I understood the most. Press a key and get a [[note]].<</linkreplace>>
<</timed>><<audio "001" volume 0.20>>
This song only had a few instruments:
<<timed 2s t8n>>Multiple synths.
<<next>>Violins.
<<next>>A guitar
<<next>>An audio sample of that room's door opening.
<<next>>This was honestly all that I needed back then.
Being a bored kid meant that you opened any app you had and made the most of it.<</timed>>
<<timed 14s t8n>>More accurately, it was a real timekiller, as this song was produced and then posted in only 2 days! I remember spending my entire day just tweaking at this song to get it just right, and it [[paid off|Let's get right to it!]] in the end.<</timed>><<audio "001" volume 0.70>>
I think the most important thing to remember is that with every sort of hobby or craft, you start somewhere simple.
This song laid the foundation of every other song I’ve created after this.
<<timed 4s t8n>>Oh, I should mention something before I move on. The reason why all of this was [[archived|one]] in the first place.<</timed>>There’s something great about Apple apps and their easy export capabilities directly to Youtube or Soundcloud.
This song and many others in this era were crossposted onto Youtube and Soundcloud because of this.
<<linkreplace "(As a kid, I valued simplicity over any extra details)" t8n>>
I realize now that I didn’t mention the name of this era. I usually refer to it as the <strong>ask-thelovedoctor</strong> era.
You can probably find it yourself with a Google search. I’ve never changed the name. Though most of the songs you will be listening to here are unlisted on that account so...<<linkreplace "Maybe it's not worth the search..." t8n>>
My whole internet music history didn't exactly start with this specific iteration of this song though.
It started with this song's demo.
And if you've made it this far, great! I'll be right here while we wait until this song's finished... ♥

<<timed 3s t8n>>Here's the demo!
<<next>>It’s not very on beat, huh.<</timed>>
<<timed 8s t8n>>I haven’t learned quantization yet. In the full version you previously heard, I painstakingly fixed every note by hand with the little note editing tool that Garageband let you use.
<<next>>This demo was not put onto my Soundcloud and instead was originally posted on December 29 2012 on Youtube dot com.
<<next>>It might get a little confusing, but I did this sort of cross posting until my Garageband era ended. We will get there soon enough, and hopefully I won’t have to jump around too much. ♥<</timed>><<audio "002" play goto "four">>
!Collapsed (tr.)
!!!!December 31, 20(12)
<<timed 4s t8n>>One of the few songs I’ve ever used the Guitar instrument on. And a return of the recorded footage.
<<next>>This one has the same door that was featured in the first song: first knocking, then an opening of it in the middle of the song.<</timed>>
<<timed 30s t8n>>Most of this song is focused on the lead synth, which was all improvised on the spot.<</timed>>
<<timed 38s t8n>>I daydreamed to this song a lot. It’s what I find myself doing with a lot of my own songs. Hell, it’s even the reason why I decided to use my own old songs as my final project. Most if not all of them were made in order for me to daydream to them.<</timed>>
<<timed 44s t8n>>Further into this museum, I go more indepth about my feelings about daydreaming, but to sum up this entire song...I kinda envisioned it as some sort of Game Over theme. One that would play after the main character of my two past songs died, or something like that.<</timed>>
<<timed 50s t8n>>The doors that are heard throughout this song is also the same sample that plays in the first song, since I was still in the same room at the time. It was a metal door, and I never really encountered those before. <</timed>>
<<timed 55s t8n>>Listening back on this, I would say something like "Congratulations on not resolving the chord!" at the end. It's really amazing to see how many things I did on purpose even back when I was 12. ♥<</timed>>
<<audio "003" play goto "five">>
!kiss
!!!!June 28, 20(13)
<<timed 15s t8n>>And now we sidetrack one year into the future to bring you a cover song.<</timed>>
<<timed 20s t8n>>If you are curious, it’s Kiss by MikitoP. It’s originally sung by a Vocaloid. Yes, I was a vocaloid fanatic, and at this point in time I had a friend who was very into making vocal covers of vocaloid songs.<</timed>>
<<timed 40s t8n>>I even bought an above average mic with the intention of recording more vocal covers. Now that didn’t really go anywhere, as I haven’t sung a proper cover song since, but the dream is still somewhere I think.<</timed>>
<<timed 60s t8n>>If you listen very carefully, you can hear all the reverb I added to my vocals. I had no idea how to mix at the time, so it was only a simple amplification plus reverb. No EQ or anything, which makes my voice very hard to hear. But if you manage to hear it then hooray!<</timed>>
<<timed 80s t8n>>I always have trouble figuring out how to describe my life around this time without knowing how much context you would have. You may not have even had nearly the same experience as I did on the internet. And...that's almost crucial for nearly my entire discography.<</timed>>
<<timed 93s t8n>>To be more specific about why I did this: I sung this cover to impress a girl I had met online, who was also my friend who made all those Vocaloid covers. Her covers are still online, surprisingly! Sometimes I listen to them time to time.<</timed>>
<<timed 110s t8n>>I can still tell at which part of the song I desperately tried to fix in post. It's funny that I still remember small things like this.<</timed>>
<<timed 130s t8n>>I still have this song memorized too. Not the lyrics exactly, but I can remember how to sing chunks of them. It makes me want to re-cover this song again...<</timed>>
<<timed 193s t8n>>About that friend I tried to impress, we lost touch. I think I tried to reconnect with her again, but we have entirely different tastes now. ♥<</timed>><<audio "004" loop play>>

!!!!July 30, 20(13)
<<timed 5s t8n>>Now, we are getting to Garageband again. I’m half grateful that I constantly uploaded little snippets of what I was working on onto this account.
<<next>>I used strings a lot if you couldn’t tell by now. Garageband made it so easy to add them in, so I went ham!
<<next>>Anyways, this little clip you are hearing is called “worth it”, caps sensitive. We will be following the evolution of this song for quite a while, so I hope you’ve memorized this [[call|six]]!<</timed>><<audio "004" stop>>

!!!!August 3, 20(13)
<<timed 5s t8n>>Worth it, but expanded!<</timed>>
<<timed 26s t8n>>This was posted shortly after the original loop, and you can see that I’ve added actual verses. The reason why I post the loop on it's own is that I work that quickly...I typically don't let a song sit unedited for longer than 3 days.<</timed>>
<<timed 30s t8n>>Oh, I should probably explain how I viewed songs at this point.<</timed>>
<<timed 32s t8n>>I was a very linear thinker at this point. I didn’t exactly stray from the Chorus / Verse 1 / Verse 2 / Chorus formula.<</timed>>
<<timed 45s t8n>>The piano feels pretty random though. But listening back on it, I kinda like its vibes. ♥<</timed>><<audio "006" play goto "eight">>
!Playing with More Rocks

<<timed 2s t8n>>An interlude.<</timed>>
<<timed 4s t8n>>I make these small little ‘mini songs’ whenever I either want to:<</timed>>
<<timed 6s t8n>>1. Show off<</timed>>
<<timed 7s t8n>>2. Be silly and show off<</timed>>
<<timed 8s t8n>>3. Make music and show off<</timed>>
<<timed 9s t8n>>4. Vent over not being satisfied with a musical project<</timed>>
<<timed 11s t8n>>This one was 4. I remember being quite frustrated while making this, feeling like "worth it" wasn't complete. It was really easy for me to get lost in a song loop to the point that I have no idea what to add next. It sucked! ♥<</timed>><<cacheaudio "00A" "https://www.dropbox.com/s/xo5sdxd9836atvb/00A_astralmeme_fadeout.wav?dl=1">>

<<timed 14s t8n>>What's the difference with this one?<</timed>>
<<timed 17s t8n>>Oh, it’s just an added chorus at the end of the song!<</timed>>

<<timed 26s t8n>>I think it's hilarious that all it took was some extra strings to finally give up. I say give up because I honestly don't think I was ever satisfied with this song. It always felt a little boring to me, and the only bit that interested me was the weird piano that didn't really sit right<</timed>>

Now to the random bits of noise that I've uploaded on the same day with the other song I finished!
These upcoming sounds were mainly for jokes! And to show off my skills a bit. The skill was that I can make funny horrible sounding music! That's about it.
This fit the category of silly songs I made in order to mildly show off that I had access to a DAW...even if Garageband is kinda "basic. ♥

<<timed 2s t8n>>Here we go!<</timed>>
<<timed 10s t8n>>So this song is actually a remaster/remix of an exclusive youtube song that was originally written for a friend’s birthday!<</timed>>
<<timed 18s t8n>>I'll explain the context for why this remix was done later, but for now, let's just enjoy the song itself.<</timed>>
<<timed 26s t8n>>There's so many parts to this song that appeal to me, but I think the thing that stands out to me the most, and the sound that inspired me to make this song in the first place is the little dwooo-OOO-oooo synth that wobbles.<</timed>>
<<timed 29s t8n>>That's actually how most of my favourite songs start out. I find something new I want to play with, and I work the song around that! <</timed>>
<<timed 33s t8n>>If you are a keen listener, you may be starting to notice a pattern in each Garageband song I make. With plucked strings, I almost always play them either 'ascending' or 'descending'. That's because Garageband's layout for plucked strings are on a nice straight line, so I can easy go up and down a note.<</timed>>
<<timed 40s t8n>>If you didn't notice this, that's alright! It's a fun exercise to try and find these little signature sounds I gravitate too. Just pay attention whenever you hear a plucked string rhythm, and you can hear it quite clearly! ♥<</timed>><<audio "015" play goto "g">>

<<timed 15s t8n>>Turtle was a friend I had for around 3 months. It was a short span of time that we talked, and actually Turtle isn't even their real name. I completely forgot what alias they used and I'm now using this weird nickname I gave them. <</timed>>
<<timed 28s t8n>>I think I even made it up on the spot? <</timed>>
<<timed 30s t8n>>Hmmm...<</timed>>
<<timed 55s t8n>>I even yawned halfway through! I think the joke was that they were a turtle because they were always sleepy, or something like that.<</timed>>
<<timed 90s t8n>>There's also this new part with strings that never gets seen in the remix version, which could also be considered as the full finished product. I'm not sure! I like both of them.<</timed>>
<<timed 118s t8n>>Also, this song sounds like its on loop in the browser, but I promise it's not! The chorus just loops that way. I learned how to make loops more seamless over time. ♥<</timed>><<audio "018" play goto "h">>

<<timed 2s t8n>>Now here's the demo version that was also originally posted on Youtube!<</timed>>
<<timed 15s t8n>>I loved changing the pitch in each of these versions.<</timed>>
<<timed 20s t8n>>I cannot emphasize how much I love changing the pitch in music. Any type of music. In fact, this has carried on forward in the more modern era music you will be getting to.<</timed>>
<<timed 35s t8n>>You see, I originally play every song in C major on Garageband. But Garageband has this very neat feature where you can alter the key at any given moment and not lose the values. Kinda like how vectors in Illustrator allow you not lose line quality when scaling an image. Neat right? <</timed>>
<<timed 40s t8n>>There’s something satisfying about hearing every single possibility of a song. I think my favourite scales are F Major, E Major and G Major off the top of my head. <</timed>>
<<timed 44s t8n>>I actually cannot tell you what the difference between the three are verbally though...but in listening terms, all of them sound higher in pitch! ♥<</timed>>

!CPC Theme Song
!!!!August 25, 20(13)
<<timed 2s t8n>>Now back to this remix, I’ve deleted some portions of the song in order to make it fit with the remixed idea. The idea? It was for a trio of characters, one of whom I made and the other two are created by old friends of mine.<</timed>>
<<timed 8s t8n>>I remember having the distinct daydream that this song is played by these characters, and that the paused synth portion shortly after the first “chorus” was meant to be one of them forgetting their part.<</timed>>
<<timed 14s t8n>>Unlike it's Youtube exclusive counterpart, I considered this version of the song to be the most complete and most thought out of the versions, only because I finally began playing around with when to play loops.<</timed>>
<<timed 20s t8n>>I'll give an example to explain what I mean. Say that verse 1 of a song has drums, piano and string. Usually, I would just duplicate this verse for the other verses, for example 2, 3 and 4. So all 4 verses would have the same drums, piano and string playing at the same time.<</timed>>
<<timed 27s t8n>>With this remix, however, I started playing around with the idea that some verses can have instruments removed, or the instruments would come in at different portions of the verse. So then with this new idea, my verses would look like this:<</timed>>
<<timed 30s t8n>>Verse 1: Drums, Piano, String<</timed>>
<<timed 32s t8n>>Verse 2: Drums, String<</timed>>
<<timed 34s t8n>>Verse 3: Drums, Piano, String (starts playing midway)<</timed>>
<<timed 36s t8n>>Verse 4: Drums, Piano, String<</timed>>
<<timed 38s t8n>>What I learned from this was that it gave variety to my songs and made them more interesting to listen to! Both for me and...my nonexistent fans who maybe exist. Somewhere. (No one but me listened to these. The view counts are all from me!)<</timed>>
<<timed 43s t8n>>On the topic of old Youtube exclusive songs, I might as well get them all out of the way, as we are slowly phasing out of the Garageband era quite soon. ♥<</timed>><<audio "019" play goto "j">>

<<timed 2s t8n>>If there was a song that accurately summed up my most favourite progressions, it'd be this one.<</timed>>
<<timed 6s t8n>>I also kinda flubbed a bit when explaining my most favourite melody pattern. It doesn't just have to be string plucks! It can also be synths. And it's quite noticible here. <</timed>>
<<timed 8s t8n>>I wish I was able to get input from all of you listening to my music. Do you also hear the striking similarities between all of them? Or is it just a familiar thread that I follow and that shows up in my songs?<</timed>>
<<timed 15s t8n>>Interesting to note, I never did anything with this loop. For me, it felt too generic to follow, so I went onwards with different melody patterns. ♥<</timed>><<audio "021" loop play>>

And here's the other pattern I was talking about.
In my project notes, the ones I wrote for all the writing you are reading today, I only wrote this for this loop:
<blockquote><em>I'm a sucker for happiness.</em>
<em>I'm a sucker for hope.</em></blockquote>
I guess what I meant to say was that this song embodies something really special to me. We will get there in a second, but feel free to linger here to your heart's content.

<<timed 3s t8n>>This is Super Falling Red.<</timed>>
<<timed 7s t8n>>Listening back on this makes me incredibly happy. I don’t think I could effectively explain how much this little loop means to me other than it embodies complete happiness in my mind.<</timed>>
<<timed 13s t8n>>I’ve mentioned it before, but every song was created in the state of daydreaming. It is meant to be listened to on repeat over and over again until you get sick of it. I feel like, in a way, this is perfectly engineered music for me and only me. That this song would only have this specific uplifting effect for me. <</timed>>
<<timed 15s t8n>>And if that’s the case, then that’s alright. <</timed>>
<<timed 26s t8n>>I don't really create songs with other people in mind, especially not Garageband songs. The Turtle birthday song was just me fixing up an old demo and reworking it for someone's birthday. Song lyrics are a whole other thing, but we haven't gotten there yet.<</timed>>
<<timed 30s t8n>>Just know that this song serves it's intended purpose well. ♥<</timed>>

!Lazy Falling Red
!!!!September 21, 20(13)
<<timed 3s t8n>>The reason why I have so many different versions of the same song is simple: I’ve created these songs because I enjoyed their sound.<</timed>>
<<timed 5s t8n>>Quite literally.<</timed>>
<<timed 9s t8n>>If you have ADHD, you may or may not relate. But for me, there are certain things that I cannot live without.<</timed>>
<<timed 12s t8n>>One of those is mental stimulation.<</timed>>
<<timed 16s t8n>>I may be heading into a large ramble here, but ADHD leaves me with a gap in my head that needs constant stimulation one way or another. Not to mention that back then, I heavily relied on daydreaming to get through my day. It's both because of stress and because I legitimately can't stop daydreaming. It's so engaging.<</timed>>
<<timed 23s t8n>>The point I’m trying to get to here is that music fills a space in my mind where I can effectively manage two things at once...sometimes.<</timed>>
<<timed 29s t8n>>See, not all music is created equal.<</timed>>
<<timed 32s t8n>>Not every sonically satisfying song is daydreamable, but every daydreamable song is sonically satisfying. Does that make sense?<</timed>>
<<timed 35s t8n>>All these songs I create, they fall under the daydreamable section. A section where it’s extremely satisfying to listen to the song and is effectively a repeatable song.<</timed>>
<<timed 38s t8n>>If it’s not satisfying, it will not get repeated.<</timed>>
<<timed 42s t8n>>But if it is, I can listen to a single song without pause for as long as 500 repeats. (I’ve counted this once!)<</timed>>
<<timed 44s t8n>>In addition, every song I create is even <em>more</em> satisfying to listen to than songs I found, as i’ve manufactured it to be the most listenable song to me and me only. Every single string pluck, decending note and 4/4 measure? It’s the most calming thing in the world to me. And not only that, but you’re telling me that I can upload even more than one version with different scales? Now I have twice the amount of songs to listen to! If i get tired of the normal speed vsrsion, then I can pop on over to the slow version and get a whole other feeling with it!<</timed>>

<<timed 3s t8n>>Now we've really gotten to the point where I created music and wanted to do something with them. Previously, they were just works that I just wanted to get out there. Songs where I found an interesting melody, built off it and was very pleased with the result. With this song however, I actually managed to use it somewhere, though there isn’t really much proof of that left. <</timed>>
<<timed 10s t8n>>That something was an RPG Maker game that I made...Less a game, more just me playing around with a new program. I added in this song as background music for all the testing. I wish I still had screenshots of that game! I only remembered it being set in a house and you controlled a little dog.<</timed>>
<<timed 15s t8n>>On that note, this song invoked a sort of haunted house vibe to me, which is why I titled it The Household. I haven’t really touched upon the naming process of all these songs, but they either fall into the 'random words I thought of at the time' category, or their name actually reflects what image is in my head whenever I hear this song. ♥<</timed>><<audio "025" play goto "p">>

Her name is also Fils, which I not so subtly took from French. It means "son". <</timed>>
<<timed 44s t8n>>If you listen close enough you can hear my sister’s laugh used as a sample. I can also recognize most of the toys I used for samples. It included a pink ball with a bell inside, a rubber duck and a weird whirring fan.<</timed>>

!!!!August 29, 20(14)
<<timed 3s t8n>>We are nearing the end of this era with one of the last full songs I wrote in Garageband for a long while. <</timed>>
<<timed 7s t8n>>Even the date that I wrote this song was a whole 8 months after the last song you heard. I only make songs whenever I'm in a musical mood, and it took that long until I felt the motivation to open the Garageband app again.<</timed>>
<<timed 16s t8n>>This one didn’t go through many changes, but I’ll point them out to you as we get through them!<</timed>>
<<timed 22s t8n>>Maybe I should start with the imagery I associate with this song first. I really was obsessed with the idea of rabbits and the moon, and it doesn't necessarily tie into the song. I actually don't have much of a visual other than an anime girl with bunny ears and red eyes on a spaceship.<</timed>>
<<timed 33s t8n>>That's very specific, yes, but that's what the title's there for. To help me remember this.<</timed>>
<<timed 45s t8n>>Other than that, this song progressively turns into some sort of ending theme. You'll see it when we get to the next versions. ♥<</timed>><<audio "028" play goto "s">>

<<timed 3s t8n>>But before we continue with rabbits, here's another “full” song.<</timed>>

Either way, I vividly remember watching some fancontent of a game I liked during this time that involved space and the scenes having no music other than white noise. I think it must've leaked into this...<</timed>>
<<timed 23s t8n>>Also, I hope you noticed all of the many typos in my song names. This one definitely was typo'd, but I never bothered to change it.<</timed>>

<<timed 22s t8n>>I enjoy this song not really for it's loopable-ness, but because of its progression. I kinda see it as a "here's all that I've learned being applied to one song" sort of deal. Like a mashup of all mashups, even though there's nothing being mashed up. I do think that if I tried hard enough, I could find what melody sounds close to previous melodies I've made, but...That's a lot.<</timed>>

!!!!January 18, 20(14)
<<timed 23s t8n>>Mikiious starts off with various songs I covered using Utau. If you do not know what Utau is, the jist is you record clips of your voice saying certain sounds, and the Utau engine compiles that as a voicebank. It’s basically a free vocal synthesizer, and the library of free to use Utau is huge.<</timed>>
<<timed 30s t8n>>This is my first ever Utau. Her name’s Kyuurine! She’s my love and joy, and her voicebank is very finicky, but I love the robotic sound that comes from the stitching of all the vocal clips.
I was pretty proud of her back then and even now.
It isn’t really hard to make a voicebank, but just being able to hear a vocal synthesizer created by your own voice sing is amazing. <</timed>>
<<timed 47s t8n>>It also helps that I absolutely loved Vocaloid songs ever since I had access to Youtube in elementary school. It was essentially a dream come true. The community for Utau is very broad and diverse, creating what are essentially song sheets in order for your Utau to sing and distributing them for free. <</timed>>
<<timed 78s t8n>>I honestly recommend everyone to look into Utau at least once. It’s quite well documented, and if you had the same interest in music as I did, then it’s especially fun!<</timed>>
<<timed 113s t8n>>Now onto the details on this account. It was made because of my sudden interest in UTAU during January 2014. If you haven't noticed, this account was made before <strong>ask-thelovedoctor</strong> ran out of space. I guess this was made specifically for UTAU songs...but it didn't stay that way forever!<</timed>>
<<timed 150s t8n>>'Mikiious' as a username came from my love of stars. It was also an alias that I wanted to use when I wanted to make covers way back when, but...that didn't happen. So now it's just a username. ♥<</timed>><<audio "032" play goto "x">>

<<timed 4s t8n>>Thinking about the timeline logistics, I realize now after looking at all these posting dates that the reason why I uploaded some audio here but not on <strong>ask-thelovedoctor</strong> was because my Garageband app was linked to the other account and not this new one! The mystery has now been solved...<</timed>>
<<timed 12s t8n>>Now onto the song!<</timed>>
<<timed 15s t8n>>This was made in Fruity Loops! The only song that I’ve ever managed to make on there. I never really grasped how Fruity Loops (or FL Studio as I think it's called now?) worked, as I was so used to my own workflow in the Garageband app.
<<timed 25s t8n>>I only stuck with using preset samples with this song...and honestly I love it a lot. I just arranged them however I wanted, and made this little tune.<</timed>>
<<timed 33s t8n>>The imagery that this song gave me according to the title was some sort of theme song that would play in a game when you battled an enemy. Something random and funky. I actually really love how quirky sounding this song is compared to my usual Garageband songs. It really shows what using another program forces you to work with, I guess!<</timed>>
<<timed 44s t8n>>It's super loud at certain points though. I still have not learned how to properly mix things...and it will take a long while until that happened. The peaks are what makes this song unique. ♥<</timed>><<audio "033" play goto "y">>

<<timed 9s t8n>>Aaaaand I have saved you all the trouble of listening to four other covers I made with Kyuurine.<</timed>>
<<timed 40s t8n>>But we cannot escape this one. Mostly because it features another Utau. One that isn’t mine!<</timed>>
<<timed 60s t8n>>This one was from an old friend I met through roleplaying groups. I had also featured another character of theirs back when I introduced the remix CPC song. I honestly have no idea where I’d be without the hours of character development talk I spent with them, as well as just spending so much time hanging out with them online. It’s a friendship I cherish dearly even if we don’t talk as actively anymore. <</timed>>
<<timed 90s t8n>>My favourite portion of this song is when the Utaus do their "speaking" portion. It sounds totally fake, but the squeakiness of Kyuurine is very endearing to me. <<timed 40s t8n>>And...I forgot exactly why I wrote this song. It’s a serenade, but I never had a deep attachment to that character! I was just in the mood I think. It's one of those moments where I wanted to show off my "skillz" off to the world.<</timed>>
<<timed 53s t8n>>The guitar in this song was also waaaaay too big for me, that I remember.<</timed>>
<<timed 60s t8n>>What’s more interesting to me is the background noises. The children's noises came from outside my townhouse, and the trickling water was from the aquarium I used to have! I actually forgot that I still had an aquarium then! ♥<</timed>>

!I am not Sure
!!!!November 16, 20(14)
<<timed 6s t8n>>I’ll be honest. Between the last song and this weird mashup I made, there were three other audio files I’ve decided to skip over. They weren’t awful, but the age that I made them at, which was 2014 at this point, so I was 14, meant that most of them were complete attention seeking clips. It’s something that this song also showcases, but unlike the other three, this one was made from my own whim and not specificly for another person. By that I meant that I heard this anime opening and went "This has the same BPM as this reggaeton song!" and mashed them together horribly. <</timed>>
<<timed 30s t8n>>I want to say that my introduction to the internet was gradual, but all encompassing. I found friends through there, and many many different people.<</timed>>
<<timed 43s t8n>>Listening to some of this audio now reminds me of how much I wanted to please the internet world at any cost, even going as far as doing attention seeking stunts that were way beyond what I should’ve been doing at that age.<</timed>>
<<timed 54s t8n>>I’m not sure where this train of thought led, but I hope that sheds some light into the thought processes I had when making some of these. Especially some of these more random sounding mashups. There will definitely be more that will pop up, but at least they were for private inside jokes. ♥<</timed>><<audio "036" play goto "2">>

<<timed 9s t8n>>This is more like a test more than anything. The entire idea of this song was encapsulated in this small soundbyte, and it just reminds me of a missing chorus from a song that will never come to fruition.<</timed>>
<<timed 18s t8n>>Talking about this song, most of the lyrics are improvised and memorized during one take, which is why you hear some voices fumble during one point! It’s very funny to me, but this was also a test for trying to harmonize...and it failed! I still think it's fun sounding though. <<timed 12s t8n>>I was very into roleplaying, and sometimes in these roleplaying groups they would have these audio prompts where you answered a bunch of questions about yourself and the character you are playing. I went above and beyond and added random denpa music in the background so it wouldn't be just me talking!<</timed>>
<<timed 22s t8n>>Listening back to this, I'm kinda surprised at how little my voice changed, and also the little verbal fillers I use now are still present even back when I was 14. I sound more peppy in this audio though...<</timed>>

<<timed 12s t8n>>It’s a reading of a "chant" in a game called Dragon Age. Specifically the "Chant of Light". Last I remember, the lyrics for this chant was on a website, and I decided to read it outloud from beginning to end.<</timed>>
<<timed 13s t8n>>Why? Because I thought it was funny, and it was an inside joke with another friend! See a pattern? <</timed>>

<<timed 1s t8n>>This is very personal song for me.<</timed>>
<<timed 5s t8n>>A whole year since I last posted something onto <strong>mikiious</strong><</timed>>
<<timed 11s t8n>>It also serves another insight into my recording process when I wanted to share songs I wrote to my friends. I was very candid in my recordings, leaving in fumbles and laughs and trying to keep things light, as I didn’t really sound like myself whenever I tried to be sound all professional.<</timed>>
<<timed 15s t8n>>This song is basically the length of when I dropped the pick in that song, unfinished and lyrics preserved only through this recording.<</timed>>
<<timed 19s t8n>>Written during a period where the friends I’ve mentioned weren’t close to us anymore because of differing interests, and I think this was written specifically during winter, my least favourite season.<</timed>>
<<timed 31s t8n>>Living through life with whatever lens I was given must look much weirder to other people. Which makes sharing my more personal songs feel much more revealing, even with the little context. How much do you need to know about me to fully understand the importance of this song? This demo was meant only for one other person at the time. But now it's here... ♥<</timed>><<audio "050" play goto "9">>

<<timed 24s t8n>>Utau update! I fell into Utau again somehow...and made a new voicebank for my girl!<</timed>>
<<timed 37s t8n>>I mostly wanted to redesign her and give her a whole new outfit. And there was this easy program I used to record all of the voice samples! It was quite amazing to see more updated resources on how to easily record a voicebank, so I was very thankful.<</timed>>
<<timed 44s t8n>>I did lose this updated version after deep cleaning my laptop...but its always easy to make another one.<</timed>>
<<timed 51s t8n>>I really do like how she sounds in this version though. She has a more strong and fuller voice compared to her original version. I mostly attribute it to age as well as having more knowledge on how to record samples. The original also had more white noise, and this one not so much so that also had an effect! ♥<</timed>><<audio "051" play goto "10">>

!!!!Febuary 4, 20(19)
<<timed 28s t8n>>And years pass again. More precisely, the last Garageband song I've published was back in <strong>November 18, 2014</strong>. This was a new project. A new...back to the basics project. <</timed>>
<<timed 42s t8n>>I haven’t touched Garageband in so long at this point, but I did it. I used the pre-fabricated Garageband loops in order to make this track, but it serves as a welcome to this set of songs I'm about to introduce to you. <</timed>>
<<timed 56s t8n>>The background of this project is that I have a lot of original characters, or ocs for short. I typically draw them out more often than not, and ocs serve as a completely different outlet for me to express ideas and stories. I hardly ever bring my original characters and worlds into my 'school work life', since I prefer to have these two different creative outlets be used for different things.<</timed>>
<<timed 170s t8n>>It's always by coincidence that I decide to open Garageband again. It was a whim. and because of this whim, I managed to finally create music again. Music that now, I am still proud of. And for the first time, I actualy created music with a specific goal in mind. It was meant to serve as theme songs for the characters in this world, which I lovingly call <strong>Emojistuck</strong>. ♥<</timed>><<audio "00E" play goto "11">>
<span id="prince"><h1>aluney demo</h1><h4>March 1, 20(19)</h4>
<<timed 9s t8n>>Now. I know who my audience is for this little tour. I'm imagining you all as little visitors as we walk room to room, and maybe a few of you have heard this song by coincidence, and just hearing now the process I went through to creating this song. Here is <em>aluney demo</em>.<</timed>>
<<timed 28s t8n>>This is a theme song created for a character of mine called Aluney. If this wasn’t all about the music, I’d completely gush about her and how much inspiration she gives me, but this is about the song, right?<</timed>>
<<timed 65s t8n>>It is by chance that I managed to find the perfect set of sounds to make this song. Really. And I'm still amazed at myself. I used a feature on Garageband that I've never touched before called the arpeggiator. It's very prominent in the main chorus of the song, and it is absolutely the pinnacle of most satisfying patterns for me. <</timed>>
<<timed 83s t8n>>I'm already pretty in love with descending/ascending notes, but this just does all of that but in one little feature!<</timed>>
<<timed 93s t8n>>Imagine if I heard of this feature back when I was younger...I would've freaked. ♥<</timed>></span>
<<timed 111s t8n>><<replace "#prince" t8n>><span id="major"><h1>prince of blood</h1><h4>March 1, 20(19)</h4>
<<timed 18s t8n>>I have to emphasize this again, but every song I daydream to is an audio satisfying song. Daydreaming for me is essential to my everyday life. It’s part of my practice, my non-practice, my everything in between. It inspires me to work, to think about a certain mood, and it definitely puts me in a state to create something For that song. Usually that means drawing or writing.<</timed>>
<<timed 65s t8n>>Here are some words that describe how this song makes me feel:<</timed>>
<<timed 67s t8n>>Energized<</timed>>
<<timed 69s t8n>>Emo<</timed>>
<<timed 71s t8n>>Goth<</timed>>
<<timed 73s t8n>>Want to stab things<</timed>>
<<timed 75s t8n>>Apathetic <</timed>>
<<timed 77s t8n>>Broody<</timed>>
<<timed 102s t8n>>And while this may not be the effect for you, it definitely is the effect for me. Songs I create are essentially little batteries that I charge up with a specific feeling, and when I go back to listen to them, I get whatever's inside. I have to remind you again that not every song I listen to is daydream worthy, but this is in the case of those special songs that catch my attention. ♥<</timed>></span><</replace>><</timed>>

<<timed 27s t8n>>As you can notice in this version, the final version of the song (Prince of Blood) is actually in a much more lower scale than the demo! And the final version is actually just one scale higher than the original (this one!). <</timed>>
<<timed 46s t8n>>I just found that this song sounded much better when it was kept to a lower scale. It felt more broody and dark to me. In the end, I still decided to upload the original C Major version of the song, the one that all the instruments were originally recorded in. ♥<</timed>><</replace>>
<</timed>><<audio "00F" play goto "12">>
<span id="heir"><h1>dianon demo</h1><h4>March 1, 20(19)</h4>
<<timed 6s t8n>>I hope I made it clear that all of these characters from now on are in the same universe. This one, her name’s Dianon. And this is her theme song.<</timed>>
<<timed 12s t8n>>She’s meant to be the opposite of Aluney. More bright and spiffy, and a little more ditzy.
(Also, her and Aluney fall in love later in the story of this universe, but as I said before, you're here for the music, right?)<</timed>>
<<timed 24s t8n>>What's funny is that this song has even more thought behind the instruments used than any other song I wrote. Aside from Aluney, I guess, but hers was more out of gutfeeling. This one I really went crazy over in order to get all the meaning down. ♥<</timed>></span>
<<timed 48s t8n>><<replace "#heir" t8n>>!heir of hope
!!!!March 1, 20(19)
<<timed 6s t8n>>Here's a hopefully simple explanation of my deliberate choices for this song.<</timed>>
<<timed 12s t8n>>The image I have associated with this is a racetrack. A track that only goes forward, and every synth is running across it. The beginning of the song starts off with a <em>Get Ready!</em> rhythm, kinda reminiscent of Mario Kart's countdown before you all start driving. <</timed>>
<<timed 36s t8n>>Next, you hear the 2 note synth which follows the course of the song, representing the act of moving forward. Dianon's entire purpose is to inspire hope and to chase towards it, no matter the obstacle. Even during the more quiet parts of the song, it doesn't feel like an abrupt end, but rather a resting period that will eventually follow another moment of running ahead.<</timed>>
<<timed 12s t8n>>Something different I went with for this project was that I decided to have my own sonic library of what instruments and melodic patterns belong to which characters / concepts. For Aluney's, the twang of her weird synth and deep and loud gongs mark her arrival. Meanwhile with Dianon, it is bright running synths and light bells that represent her character and her concept: Hope. ♥<</timed>><</replace>>
<</timed>><<audio "00G" play goto "13">>
<span id="witch"><h1>caitri demo</h1><h4>March 2, 20(19)</h4>
<<timed 9s t8n>>Caitri. She is evil. She is a manipulator. And above all else, she believes she holds the key to the universe. All through the power of hope.<</timed>>
<<timed 28s t8n>>It's not super apparent in her demo, since I used different instruments here, but I hope you can hear the similar melodies that were present in Dianon's theme song here. Especially the alternating 2 note synth that pops in and out of existance. The constant running bass synth also serves as a call back to Dianon's hopeful run through her song...but more eeeevil! ♥<</timed>></span>
<<timed 67s t8n>><<replace "#witch" t8n>><span id="ulysse"><h1>witch of hope</h1><h4>March 2, 20(19)</h4>
<<timed 76s t8n>>The hope-associated bells are here!<</timed>>
<<timed 29s t8n>>I like to think of this theme song as a bait and lure. It baits you with the optimistic sounding bells that sound similarly to Dianon's, but the song has an underlying dark belly that is constantly present. The once exciting <em>Get set, ready, GO!</em> melody present in Dianon's theme song sounds more like a warning than anything, accompanied with a new synth that ominiously is pitch bent upwards at the climax of the chorus.<</timed>>
<<timed 67s t8n>>The end of the song doesn't even resolve itself fully, which was intentional on my part! ♥<</timed>></span><</replace>>

I was really trying to broaden my horizons and try out new instruments that were available on the app, such as the drum machine. This demo never really got anywhere, and I couldn't really place it to one particular original character. It's basically just a study on new ways to structure my songs and stepping out of my comfort zone. ♥<</timed>></span><</replace>>

<<timed 16s t8n>>What I realized soon after creating both Aluney's and Dianon's theme songs is that I hold the power to use their motifs and mash them together to essentially create a song that representing the both of them!<</timed>>
<<timed 32s t8n>>This little loop combines many of the instruments from Aluney's song and Dianon's song in the same key, as well as reutilizing their melodies!<</timed>>
<<timed 48s t8n>>This is practically self explanatory because of the title, but I was absolutely motivated to create this because I COULD. They're in LOVE and I am the only person who cares enough about these characters' universe to make any sort of content for them. ♥<</timed>></span>

!!!!July 13, 20(19)
<<timed 16s t8n>>So either this is in C Major or the scale above it, but it's definitely much lower than the original demo. I actually think that it's the same scale that Aluney's song is in! I think I changed it because it made her instruments more recognizable. <</timed>>
<<timed 32s t8n>>Some instruments are the kept with their associated melody, some are swapped for the other half's instrument. I really didn't want to add any new instruments to this song, and challenged myself to use only the ones that were provided in their respective theme songs. I also did not create any new melodies, and instead heavily referenced and copied from the theme songs and simply rearranged them. <</timed>>
<<timed 48s t8n>>I really wanted for this song to represent the union that these two have. That they are inseparable, no matter how different they are. And that there's a clear understanding between the two of them, happily coexisting and letting each other shine in their own way. ♥<</timed>><</replace>>

Either way, this is a genuine silly song I wrote about my love for the Fire Emblem: Three Houses character Edelgard von Hresvelg. The love is very much real, and all of this was sung on the spot. <</timed>>

<<timed 38s t8n>>The premise of this album and this whole band is essentially me and my friends' attempt at roleplaying a villain character who works at a fast food restaurant and starts his own band. This is the end of our journey.
Really abrupt? Maybe. There's no actual end to this since well, I'm still alive and healthy and still listening to music. In the end, I don't really know what I want to accomplish with this whole compilation. Is it serving me? Is it serving others? Is it some sort of inspirational tool, or just a way to look back on my old habits?
I intentionally started off thinking this would go more indepth in the internet culture I was embedded in, but I can't really formulate those thoughts without going into detail every single site I frequented and the people I decided to talk to the most. I wonder now if it's enough to just let these songs play semi-sequencially, and somehow you will notice a sort of progression. Did I hear it? A bit, yes, maybe in my Garageband songs. I think what this demostrated was my various interests that spanned through my years.
This project is mostly for me, I think.
Thank you for listening ♥
[[RETURN|START]]Hello there!
I hope you don't mind the entirely dark room.
I have to work with what I have, but feel free to make yourself <<linkreplace "comfortable!" t8n>>\<em>comfortable!</em>
You already got a hang of some of the controls! Great!
Links are used in order to forward our journey through this museum's rooms. Most of the song switching is hands off and automatically done. Otherwise, feel free to click on any link to progress through a song's commentary.
A little heart will show up when the commentary for that room is finished, and when you should relax and listen to the song until its <<linkreplace "end." t8n>>\<em>end.</em>
The original uploaded titles of my songs will be displayed in each beginning entry alongside the date they were posted. Only around four titles have been modified, due to my younger self's obsession with having cool Japanese names for my songs. These will be noted when they show up with a <strong>(tr.)</strong>.
Other than that, feel free to take your time. You can always restart the museum again if need be, and I am not able to tell how long you stay in here, so there's no pressure if you want to take a break. And when you do decide on taking a break, feel free to use the button above each passage to go to a little breakroom! Don't worry, unless there's some bug I overlooked, you'll be able to get back to the room were in previously when exiting!
I hope that you enjoy your time regardless! ♥

<<timed 52s t8n>>The drum ticks were made easily by playing around with the Garageband drum feature. They made it as easy as sliding your finger around the image of a drum to get the taps in! If you move closer to the rim, it’s faster. Further, it’s slower. Pretty straightforward.<</timed>>
<<timed 70s t8n>>Thinking back on it, I think I once talked about how I prefer the tactility of pressing a button on a keyboard and creating a sound over using a mouse to generate a note.
